  • Condition & Value Survey (Pre-Purchase Survey)
This is the most comprehensive type of inspection, and is recommended for all new purchases. Typically this includes an out-of-the-water inspection and sea trials.
  • Insurance/Appraisal Survey
This survey is typically done to assess risk for insurance companies or establish value for banks. It is a condensed version of the Condition & Value Survey and includes vessel condition, seaworthiness and safety. It may or may not include an out-of-water inspection or sea trails.
  • Damage Survey
Damage Surveys are performed to asses the extent of damage to a vessel. Typically they also include root-cause analysis.
  • Nondestructive Testing
Maine Design Company employs several nondestructive techniques when performing surveys including moisture meter readings, ultrasonic flaw detection and thickness gauging, as well as high-resolution thermal imaging.
